Christy and the Python
was a result of chance and coincidence. The photo was taken in 2003 during our first
photoshoot with Christy Wolfe. Christy arrived at our studio where we happened to have a
python on hand that we used with a previous model. When Christy saw the large creature,
she immediately dug into her clothing bag and brought out a snake-skin bikini she had
planned to wear anyway. Without fear, Christy put on the bikini and wrapped herself with
the snake, creating a one-of-a-kind photo. . . . Doug Schneider

The photo for Natalie and the
Saran Wrap Bikini was shot in the fall of 2006. The concept came to fruition
after a discussion with Natalie Waples about swimsuit materials we hadn't seen
used yet. When the notion of using Saran Wrap came up, some lights went on. Shortly later,
someone ran across the street and bought a box of Wrap for $1.50. Natalie said that it
easier than she thought it would be to put on, but confessed that it's not likely
something anyone's going to wear to the beach. . . . Doug Schneider

Stacey-Lynn at the
Men's Room Door was shot in a high school in Mississauga, Ontario, in the spring
of 2005. It was the first photoshoot we did with Stacey-Lynn Mlinarevic. The heavily
painted, beat-up door to the men's room provided the perfect background for Stacey-Lynn's
aggressive stance. . . . Doug Schneider

Sandra with Two
Scarves came about through inventiveness and ingenuity at a photoshoot during the
summer of 2005. Sandra pulled out two scarves from her bag and wondered aloud what kind of
outfit she could make from them. Moments later, the scarves were transformed into a skirt
and a top and the photo was taken. . . . Doug Schneider

The main image for Kelly On the
Edge was shot during the summer of 2005 with Kelly seated on a ledge and with a
mirror right behind her. The setup, though, is only part of it. What we particularly like
about this image is Kelly's expression, which perfectly suits the tone of what we were
trying to achieve. In fact, she has a knack for creating just the right kind of look for
the shot, something she calls getting into character. . . . Doug

The photo used for Chantal's
Secret Stone Staircase was shot during the summer of 2008, deep into the trees in
Gatineau Park, which is located in Quebec, Canada. Because there were so many trees, the
sunlight couldn't shine through, resulting in a rather rather dark, somber tone to the
image, which is further accentuated by using black-and-white. There were a number of
similar images shot in this series, but we chose this one because of mysterious look on
Chantal's face in this photo and the way she's looking off in the distance at what,
we're still not sure. . . . Doug Schneider

The photo used for Angela's
Highlights was the result of good luck in finding the location and good timing in
that we were there at just the right time. We were in Vancouver during the weekend of the
2008 Canadian Figure Championships when we happened upon this stairwell in the hotel that
the competitors were staying at. It just so happened that at that same time, the sun was
blazing through the round windows that overlook the water below in such a way that fully
highlighted her hair, and the way Angela was looking toward the floor emphasized the
effect even more. A few minutes later, though, the sunlight was gone. As I said, it was
good luck and good timing that resulted in a photo with a look that we probably couldn't
replicate again. . . . Doug Schneider

Obviously, some might be led
to believe that Michelle's topless in this photo. Actually, she's not. The illusion
happened by chance when she was moving from one pose to the next and she raise
her hands to her neck, completely concealing her top. At that point, I simply asked
Michelle to turn her head to one side and look off in the distance to bring out the
distinctive beauty in her face. That's why we named this image By Chance
oftentimes, the best images involve a bit of luck. . . . Doug

Natalie had talked about this Graffiti
Wall for quite some time. She told me that she'd seen it one day when she was
traveling on the bus. However, her description of it didn't do justice for what it's
actually like when you're there. The colors are unbelievably bright and punchy and there
are different designs and styles everywhere. Combined with the bikini she chose to wear
that day, the result was spectacular. This photo is actually being used in a magazine
called DXL, but we felt it was just too good to leave out of
here. . . . Doug Schneider

The heavily muscled Mike
Asiedu Emerging from a black background makes for a dramatic and intense
image that we really like. I shot this photo backstage at the 2006 IFBB Montreal Pro
Classic, the place where Canadian Mike was making his professional
competitive-bodybuilding debut. The shot came about when Mike was relaxing backstage,
waiting for the moment to be called onstage to do his posing routine. The area where he
was standing was dark except for a lone light above. I positition Mike precisely under the
light and asked him to hit a "most muscular" pose, which is what was
capture. . . . Doug Schneider

Nadya Castellas has a strong and powerful
look that I wanted to capture with camera. When I shot this photo with the firey red and
yellow background, I knew that it would look intense. When Karen Fanas sent me back the
edited image the first thing I said was, "She's On Fire!" That,
obviously, became the name of this image. The photo was shot in the same outdoors area as
Natalie Waple's Graffiti Wall shot -- about 30 feet away. It's a great when a city has a
pre-made setting like this to shoot against. . . . Doug Schneider

Sometimes simpler is better.
When Jaclyn Troup showed up for this photoshoot, she had plenty of outfits, but it was the
simple Silver Scarf she was carrying that caught my eye. I knew that it
could be made to flow elegantly and be quite flattering with just the right kind of shot.
This photo was shot against a regular wall with sunlight coming from a single window
lighting up the room. Like I said, sometimes simpler is better . . . Doug

For me, the best photos are
the ones that involve the least post-production work. They're the shots that capture the
moment, frame it accurately, and are pretty much ready to print straight out of the
camera. That's what was captured when I took this picture of Mymuna Nasrin -- very little
work was done to it except for a subtle muting of the colors that works to enhance
Mymuna's striking features. I call this image Classic because of
Mymuna's classic beauty that's complemented by the simplicity of the setup that I believe
will make this image timeless -- it will be just as appealing in future years as it is
today. . . . Doug Schneider
